Can Chickens Eatโ€ฆ?

Every food here gets the same treatment: a straight verdict, which parts are safe and which are not, how much a flock can have based on the standard treat limit, and nutrition per 100 g from the USDA. Toxicity claims cite extension services or veterinary references, not forum posts.

The rule behind every page

A laying hen eats about 113 g of complete feed a day, and that feed carries the protein and calcium she needs to lay. Treats, scraps and garden extras should stay under roughly 10 percent of that, about 11 g per bird per day, so they do not crowd the feed out. Each food page has a calculator that turns that into a portion for your flock size. The chicken feed calculator covers the feed itself.
